Didattica
Most Open University Business School students study part-time from home or wherever it's convenient. Our unique approach to flexible learning - supported open learning - means that you can set your own timetable around the way you live and you’ll be supported all the way.
Learning materials
Everything you need is included in the fees. Most of our courses employ blended learning – a variety of methods such as traditional books, online conferencing & resources, face-to-face tutorials and DVDs. All our study materials are underpinned by our strong research and academic units, and the Open University Business School is at the forefront of using technology to improve teaching and learning.
When you enrol for a course, you’ll typically receive:
- ideas about how to prepare
- regular mailings of course materials
- a course planner to help you organise your diary and learning.
Support
Throughout the course, you are supported by a personal tutor and by advisory staff at your regional centre. Our tutors have strong academic backgrounds and most are practising professionals in business and industry. You also have access to our student resources and online library. You can swap ideas and experiences with other students through online conferencing, at optional group tutorials and – for some courses – at residential schools.
Assessment
During the course, you’ll produce assignments for your tutor designed to consolidate your learning. There’s usually a final assessment or exam, for which you’re thoroughly prepared.
