MAMA & Data Analysis and the Arts – SDA Bocconi

Il 28/04/2021 dalle 13:30 alle 14:30

In order to address user experience (UX) mistakes and problems, arts leaders and managers can test assumptions by designing experiments that are based on Agile Project Management and that involve the collection of qualitative data from users.

Through doing this, arts leaders and managers can reframe UX problems as an opportunity to learn. Also, agile methods and qualitative data can be used to measure the UX of art, hence the intrinsic/cultural value of the arts.

If arts leaders fail to recognize that, quantitative data will continue to primarily be used to measure instrumental value. In other words—the extent to which the arts can be used as an instrument to generate economic or social benefits—and, if so, the intrinsic/cultural value of art will become even more invisible. This would present a clear problem for arts leaders and managers in their attempts to articulate the fundamental purpose, artistic vision and values of the organisation they are charged to lead.

Your opportunity to address some of these issues with expert faculty, while learning more about the SDA Bocconi Master in Arts Management and Administration (MAMA) and interacting with the Director, the Recruiting & Admissions Team and other members of the MAMA Community.
