Description

The Master examines the space designed both in its aesthetic and functional aspects and in those, less obvious, methods of use and symbolic values. It emerges a dual path, starting from the instinct of men to make room, placing its own habitat, investigates the performative value of built, depositary of the fundamental values of the community.

Suggestions and theoretical stimuli become the material on which it’s possible to develop the project activity focusing all attention on making concrete what elective scope of a designer.

Objectives

Design is experiencing a time of strong momentum and spreading. The rapid evolution of production methods and lifestyles increasingly requires adaptability and innovation. Anticipating and stimulating change has become one of the main drivers of growth and competitive factor of contemporary economies. The traditional disciplinary boundaries are overwhelmed by the need for greater interaction, ability to work in groups and technology transfer.

Designers are required to know new tools of representation and sharing of information as well as to improve skills of listening to the needs. However, new opportunities open for designers who are asked to draw on the wealth of traditional knowledge without conditions or obligations formal style.

The product of creativity, also applied to a theme as old as the living, can become a software that helps us orient ourselves or an interface to manage a home automation application but in any case it must be time to take advantage of new knowledge to improve the welfare and meet the need for comfort. It seems clear, even from this brief introduction, that the master is not intended only to transfer a pre-established knowledge and consolidated experience as the use of techniques, materials typical of other fields such as literature, chemistry, neurosciences, cinema, computer science. Finally we want to give space to the themes typical of professional practice and management of the project and to the team of employees that the customer, considered part of the quality of work of the designer.

In addition to the conscience of the economics of the project, students IAAD must acquire the ability to do marketing of themselves - essential to present and understand their work and their skills. During the course, great importance is given to presentations and design contest: students are encouraged to make presentations of their work and supported to participate in national and international contests: the projects must not only meet the designers, but they must be able to be appreciated and understood by juries of experts and the public.
