Description
With the aim to ensure educational excellence and the development of a didactic model updated and dynamic, able to act as “innovation centre”, the master course identifies the methodological attitude and flexibility in teaching the instrument to ensure constant updating of professional profiles.
In all disciplines, the teaching program provides continuous phases of interaction between theoretical and practical experiments, identifying in the laboratory the place of educational research.
The Master aims to train young professionals able to offer innovative solutions and manage the process of development of the project: creative designers able to control the conceptual and technological-productive aspects, who can interpret the socio-cultural awareness and economic market, careful to grasp the moods that lead to innovative solutions in content and form that draw on the various design disciplines, artistic and cultural, having the tools to interpret and predict the dynamics of the market.
To design is therefore essential to know how to handle cultural, conceptual, technological, and potential means of expression, directing the creation of innovative products and services: the compliance of the design with respect to the environment is crucial for the creation of a contemporary professional figure, prepared and conscious, consistent with the needs of the market and the world of production.
Thanks to the active support of the partner companies – made concrete in the construction of special lectures, workshops, seminars, internships, projects and thesis – the syllabus uses specific and constantly updated instruments, design-oriented and focused in the area of mobility and the main means of transport.
The entire didactic path is structured to deal with an advanced level design, taking into account technology, manufacture, environment, ergonomics and marketing, promoting flexibility, management skills and an aptitude for team-working. The aim is to unite the world of industry, the research and experimentation through the study of projects sponsored by the industry itself.
Objectives
The educational objectives are intended to provide:
• high level of training in the disciplines that characterize the cultural and scientific context of the transport sector;
• knowledge of advanced methods and contents of the disciplines of the majoring;
• high mastery of techniques and specific tools to the design and manufacture of innovative products in the field of transport, with a focus on sustainability - the development of a particular sensitivity to the contemporary creative languages and an aptitude to continuous update;
• the development of innovative attitude that takes into account the social changes, the dynamics of the market and the opportunities offered by technological development;
• appropriate knowledge on the management of professional input in order to promote a knowledgeable and skilled in the working world.
Scholarships
IAAD offers 5 scholarships to be assigned to candidates according to curriculum and portfolio evaluation.
The available scholarships are:
- 1 worth 100% the tuition fee
- 2 worth 50% the tuition fee
- 2 worth 20% the tuition fee
Scholarships will be assigned to the top 5 students in the Preliminary application ranking, and will be confirmed for the Master module prior the passing of all Preliminary exams with a minimum 27/30 average. Scholarships will be awarded with merit criteria from a board selected from the Direction and from the Coordinator of the "Communication Design" department.
Requirements
- Preliminary Module
Graduates in Industrial Design, Automotive Engineering and related subjects, holders of a postgraduate diploma in Industrial and Transportation Design and candidates who have gained significant professional experience in the field of transportation can access the Preliminary Module. Admission is subject to the assessment of the application, to be submitted by letter of application, curriculum vitae and portfolio. IAAD reserves the right to request the candidates, if necessary, an interview in person or via Skype.
- Master Module
Access to the Master Module from Preliminary is subject to passing the exams incurred in the latter and the evaluation of the Coordinator of the Master.
Graduates in Transportation Design or who have gained significant experience in the Transportation Design or modelling can access the Master Module. Admission to the course is in both cases possible only with the approval of the Coordinator of the course based on the assessment of academic qualifications, professional resume and portfolio.
